SEA and PDX

I am headed to Portland, OR via Seattle, WA this thursday.  My brother was supposed to accompany me, but his boy decided to make his place in the world 6 weeks early.

My question is this:  if I bought my ticket on Northwest Airlines through Orbitz, is it possible to move the flight up to an earlier time for minimal charge?

I don't know if I am up for ( Read more... )

Call Northwest directly, but there will probably be a $50 or $100 change fee and then the difference in cost between the fare you paid and the new fare. I tried this recently through U.S. Airways, but all the additional fees totaled $487 (when I only paid $326 for the original fare). Good luck! Airlines suck!

If you decide to make the drive. You could always call a friend and chat till you arrive to keep you awake. If you can't find anyone to chat with I'm usually up quite late if you're interested in chatting.

I hope you have a safe trip by the way.

noticed a type-o in my first comment.

I was saying I'm pretty sure I can house you for a night or two. I would have to talk to my house mates firsts but we have plenty of space.

My house is 4 bed 2500 square feet with 2 full bath so there is no issues. As long as you don't mind cats.

also if you stay in town I don't mind showing you around. Hit the bars (they are all non-smoking) and tour the city. I don't know if you been to seattle before.

Also it might be cheaper to take a train from seattle. It's often cheaper but the travel time is 3 hours. There is less of a line or hassle at the train station

I'm flying out on Friday to SEA, returning on Monday. I have a hotel. Does that help?

Actually I'm coming up for some professional networking, and to see friends. I just posted an open call to meet for drinks. If you're free and so inclined, come on by!

We have an spare bedroom and I would like to second the idea of staying in Seattle instead.

Two reasons:

1) Seattle Pride is this weekend

2) Seattle Men's Chorus have our show called "Comedy Tonight" featuring Leslie Jordan (the nemesis to Megan Mullaly on Will and Grace and 'Brother Boy' from Sordid Lives). It is going to be a great show with lots of show stopping numbers throughout!

Let me know if you need a place...
