Thank you for this writing opportunity. We need to address what is happening in the world and this is an excellent way to do this.

I am only one person, but I can
stand side by side
with my neighbors and friends
and show the world that
love is all that really matters.

I am only one person, but I can
Love my neighbors
Stand for what is right not wrong
Stand for peace not violence

I am only one person, but I can
Not make judgements
Based on emotions
Instead of facts.

I am only one person, but I can
Love my neighbor
And understand that everyone
Is my neighbor.

Thanks for the assignment today. I don't usually write poetry but I thought I would give it a try.

I am only one person but
I can be the match that starts the fire
I can be the voice that leads the choir
I can turn my head and walk away
From hate and bullies every day.

I can look for truth behind the lie
And know that one does not define
The group
It is
The differences
That make each flake a pile of snow
The specks of dirt the world we know
And each of us
Each of us
Us

Here is my piece -
I am only one person but I can
Pray, Laugh, Love
Give freely of myself
Offer positive vibes, greetings, and closure to everyone
“Hope you have a less complicated day!”

I am only one person but I can
Help others in need by
Opening a door
Passing on information
Loan out a book

I am only one person but I can
Strive to be the person we all
Expect everyone to be!
