Argh

Well, it is mid-week for me. I actually worked on my article this morning and I think I will be able to do the same thing tomorrow morning. If I can put aside the morning--even just an hour of the morning--on my revisions, I should have this article revised before the Baby comes ( Read more... )

Ahhh. Meds, so good to hear from you. I am embarrassed that I haven't sent out a gift yet for Peyton's birth. So sorry. In the mail soon. I promise. And, a phone call to you as well. Bad JB.

My work outs are walking. I walk about 40 minutes at anywhere between 3-3.6 (whatever I can handle that day). I have gained 21 lbs, which I am really quite comfortable with.

BH contractions are scary. Don't like them. I think about all the women who have gone into labor and I feel much better. For instance, if my grandmas can do this, I can do it, right?!?!

Lets talk. You think THursday could work?
I am sorry too about how absent I have been from your life. So Sorry.

Oh don't worry about a gift, with sll the other stuff you've got going on now!

Glad to hear you are walking for workouts--that's great!! And 21 lbs, you are golden, that's just perfect!

Yeah, that's the thing about childbirth, women have been doing it for a bajillion years. I just think that some women get all worked up about having the birth go just according to plan, and freak if something doesn't go as planned. To me, that's just such a waste of mental energy, because as long as everyone's healthy, the other stuff is just not such a big deal.

Have you decided whether you're going to have an epidural? I had one with the cerclage at 12 weeks and was nervous, but it really wasn't a big deal. Or maybe it was a spinal? I'm not really clear on the difference.

Spinal actually goes into the spinal cord, I think. They give spinals for C-sections. Epidural is an injection into the spinal fluid and it seeps into the cord. I haven't ruled anything out. I am not going in with a birth plan. Or, basically, my birth plan is: if I need, I will do it; if I don't need it, I won't do it. So, if I am in pain, I am going to have the epidural. It does scare me a bit, but the thought of intensive pain for 12 hours scares me also. Glad to hear it wasn't a big deal, though, because I would be lying to say that I am not scared about it. Same with the episodomy (spelling?!). I am not ruling that out either; is that a mistake?

I do get worked up about labor. THe pain just scares me, Meds. I mean I don't waste hours thinking about it. But, now that I can't sleep con't through the night, I will think about it and be like, "YIKES!"

Sorry to disappoint. Braxton Hicks was a British doctor in the 19th century. Good guess, though.
