I always thought the problem with natural selection is it doesn't move fast enough. I also think when you mess with Mother Nature, she will come down on your ass sooner or later (as many mothers do).

It's complicated though - if you live in a natural disaster prone area, you don't have the resources to get out and the local government doesn't have a good track record of helping people out, what can you do

I have never agreed with a livejournal post more than I do with this one. I can see how it is misconstrued as being caustic or even sardonic, but it's logical.

Thanks - I'm kind of surprised I left this unlocked... I guess I was fairly upset at everyone at that point.

Wait, I just went back and read the original post... I could actually see writing almost the same post today about finances and the stock market...
