Extended Author's Notes: The Dreams of Captain J Harkness

Someone told me this weekend that posting extensive author's notes was actually relatively common in certain fandoms, regardless of fic length, and not just vanity.

Well, I'm sure it is just vanity, but I'm posting mine for The Dreams of Captain J Harkness anyway. Obviously, if you've not read it, now would be a sensible time to do so.

How interesting. You seem to think in pictures, mostly. My notes are mostly bits of dialogue. Even if I take them out or rewrite them, I find I think in terms of conversations.

Oh, the interesting thing is that all of these pockets of inspiration came as I was writing, not before. I had very little plan going into writing this. It was very unusual for me. (I had the idea of the first one before I started writing, and the fourth one came to me and convinced me to write it.)
