1) Back from Germany. Literally, 1000 pictures to sort through. Will be slideshow extravaganza of the most beautiful kind. Alps big. Also lovely. So is most of Bavaria and Austria. Oktoberfest = Good Frackin' Times. (Also, many, many beers were harmed in the making of this vacation.)

2) I won something. A skiffy for Best Jack - Gen fic. Feels cool.

Uh, other people's fics. This one his hot and lyrical and lovely, and This one is heartbreaking, absolutely heartbreaking, and unusually well-done first person.

So, would you be willing to send me the final piece in Word format (if you have it)? As you know, I was saving my gluttony for the final piece, and I could settle down with a couple chapters at a time. It would practically be like having a published book. ;)

No big if you don't have it (damn you for spoiling my nefarious plot to steal it and publish!).

I certainly do have it - entirely for the purpose of determining the total word count. :D The only downside is that it lacks all the edits made when I or readers noticed typos post-posting, but there weren't scads of those, so it should be readable. (Oh, and I think I went back and edited some of the paragraph formatting in earlier chapters, once I sorted out how to do it properly, but it should be readable.)

I'll have to print myself a copy, at some point, just for posterity's sake. It's 280 pages, though, so I don't think I'll do it at home...

ETA: Also, I think madeira is going to let me host it at her domain, so I can put up a whole, one html document copy there for people who want to save it. But I'll send you the word doc.

As for fic, for a change I got the ones I found recced to TWH in a timely fashion. I have to second Demotu's opinion of the heartbreaking one, very good, but there's also a good one by paperclipbitch and a - get this - believable mpreg from szm.

Have you the details on your presentation and such? Would be seriously fun/cool if we could actually hook up if we're both in town.

Too tipsy for links is my favorite way to spend a Saturday night (or Thursday, or Monday, or Friday, for that matter). I think we'll get on just fine.
