Sooo, that was pretty good overall. Although the way everyone was reacting to House's change in meds really, really annoyed me, the last couple of Huddy scenes were worth it...
House Episode 5-16: The Softer Side

- Kutner thinks House humoring the patient's parents is out of character enough to go to Wilson? "A tremendous bowel movement!" LMAO, Wilson! So, he tells Kutner to enjoy that his boss is "having a good day"? Isn't that what Cuddy is gonna tell him? Hahahaha.
- "You slept with House." LOL. "...doesn't explain why I'm not curled up in a ball..." LOL, Cuddy! And now Cuddy is the one that's worried.
- Oh, the lies are piling up. Think the kid is gonna know the truth by the end?
- So, how did Cuddy know about "the moron with the broken finger"?
- Hmmm. The kid wanted to take dance but the mom flipped out. Wonder if this will end up having anything to do with his diagnosis (his wanting to take dance rather than sports)?

- So, House is on to Wilson? Why is everyone saying heroin anyway? There *are* other drugs stronger than Vicodin.
- Ewwww. House making himself throw up? Yep, methadone is definitely stronger. But it is also *exactly* the medication that is used to take addicts *off* of their drug of choice. It does have a long duration so doses are given only once or twice a day but being off by a little bit wouldn't make that much difference. So if it really does completely take away House's pain then what's the problem? Btw, I wonder what made House think of changing his medication. Does it have anything to do with the changes in Cuddy's life? Hmmm.
- Interesting. Cuddy keeps Thirteen on the case so that the kid will have someone to talk to. *this* is what she's good at. I'm glad Cuddy the manager is being shown here. :)
- Cuddy/House in the bathroom! That amuses me too much. What the heck? Methadone is perfectly acceptable. It just has to be monitored. House isn't stupid. And if he's actually pain free, then he has no reason to take extra doses (especially since it doesn't give a high). I mean, he actually made himself throw up the alcohol so that he wouldn't risk respiratory depression. How come *no one* believes he can handle this? It's so much better than Vicodin. Cuddy, of course he's going to want to stay pain-free. Sigh.
- Kind of nice talk the kid is having with Thirteen... oh, the poem isn't a reflection of his feelings. Oops. Oh, *here's* the vomiting blood. Can't we go more than one episode without seeing this?
- Necrotizing pancreatitis? Wow, that's severe. Hmm. Foreman's good at reading Thirteen. Nice aspect to their relationship.

- Uh oh. The mom wants to beat Thirteen up. Here's Cuddy to save her. "He's a teen-ager, you're his mother. Now is not the time to start listening to him." Good one. But she doesn't let Thirteen off the hook, either.
- The methadone is good for him. Duh! Seriously. I mean, they give methadone to the average drug addict coming off the street!!! Sigh. I hate it when they get their facts wrong - big things...
- Ooooooo, Cuddy gets to see clean-shaven and suit-and-tie House!!! "Wow." Hahaha, Cuddy, that's right. Finally, a reasonable reaction: scheduled and observed dosing -- just the way he's *been* getting his methadone anyway. LOL, he asks for a raise or a bigger office in the *same spot*? Hahaha. Awww. Look at her smile. "We both know this is where you belong." And then the way he thanks her quietly. Very nice moment.
- "I have issues with authority." LOL. What kind of issues would that be, House? "We thought you were gone." "Cuddy missed me." "What happened to your cane?" "She asked to borrow it for some reason."
- Hahaha. "When did you two come up with this?" And Foreman knows House knows and House is done messing with them. Ok. Next story, thank you. Although, the heels *are* nice with the pants.
- So the kid was just dehydrated? And then got kidney failure from the contrast? Cool that House figured it out. Oh, but did he really have to call the kid a "freak" to his face?
- "No reason you can't do both." Now, that's a little funny coming from Thirteen.

G. *that moment* "The one thing you have is your intellect; you think if that's compromised you have nothing." And he doesn't deny it. Then she begs him to just take the methadone. "Don't do this." And the look he gives her as he refuses resolutely. "This is the only me you get." Sad but powerful.
