the interior of the truck

Photo here.

Mind you, when the truck was packed, the stuff was stacked up to the ceiling.

Special bonus: after this happened, our stuff was taking up more space than we were alloted - 10x15 instead of 10x10. So, before we picked it up, they told us they were charged a few hundred dollars extra for taking up too much space. Um, yeah.

Wow.

I just went through the whole Flickr set, and I can't believe they have the balls to charge you MORE for this.

I love reading The Consumerist, and they have some suggestions for dealing with situations like this. They have this thing called an "Executive Email Carpet Bomb," which tends to get past the first-level customer service goons.

Barring that, I'm sure they'd love to hear a real horror story like this, especially since it has lots of photos to go along with it. The blog has a huge readership, and some companies flinch after they've received that kind of negative exposure. (Just... don't read the comments on the posts. There are some real mouth-breathers out there, and I can't be bothered to read past them to get to the good commenters...)
