Ghost Story thoughts

I've been re-reading Ghost Story to prep for Cold Days, and I think I've figured out why people criticized it. While its certainly not as good as the last... let's say... 4? books, its as good as any of the books after he found his stride in books 3 and 4. So why were people grumpy, other than nerds being grumpy?

I disagree. I thought they wove together quite well. I like the introspective turn that Butcher took after several novels of non-stop wizard ass kicking action. It was also a rather nice way to show that everything you do has consequences. I also think Harry's in quite a pickle, and I want to see what Butcher does to get him out of it.

Well, I agree that the book displays consequences well, but I think that's mostly in what I call plot A. I also agree it will be interesting to see where Cold Days goes.
