NOAA predicts that this year's hurricane season will be less intense than last years'. Which means, judging by the predictions of previous years: hold on tight.

Hey, it's National Cask Ale Week... in the UK. (I'm not sure it it's a CAMRA thing or not.) But that doesn't mean you can't celebrate it! The Gingerman usually has St Arnold's Elissa IPA on cask. The Elissa is a not-very-violent IPA; I recommend it.

Hey, anyone want to order a Galileoscope with me? A pretty cool telescope for very cheap. It is made to be able to approximate the telescopes used by Galileo (and a much better approach invented the same year.)

 Have you heard about Chrome? It's a Google-created (or, at least, sponsored) web browser. Its point is to make web browsing faster, more stable, and more standard. And it seems to do a pretty good job, to me.

So there's "bank" in the earthworks sense: a mounding of earth against another feature. (River banks are a ledge created by the river.)
