Went to buy amaretto. Guy at the checkout asked for ID. I blinked at him. "We card under 35, ma'am."
I pulled out my driver's licence with the birthdate in, you know, the early 1400s.
"Oh, I'm terribly sorry!" cried the guy.
"Don't be - I haven't been this happy in years!"
Hee.

And encouraging. This guy could do math and get to your correct age. I worry about that skill, when clerks look afraid as they thrust change into my hand. I suspect they can't count it back up to the bill I gave them.
Man. I never get carded.

I used to work at a liquor store. I had a running bit, trying to be charming. When women of a particular age would come in, I'd solemnly ask them for their licenses. They'd always laugh and be pleased.
I'm way older than that age now. I guess God get even eventually. :)
