Washington, D.C.. This is a man who organized his biggest proselytizing push over the High Holy Days.
Then, the RNC employed as a political consultant one
David Barton, an evangelical activist who says that this is a "Christian Nation" and that the separation of church and state is "a myth."
Were fairies and elves in the room when I studied the Constitution? Because I'm pretty sure that this mythical separation was right up there.
Barton is a member of
The Providence Foundation, whose website states its mission as this: "The Providence Foundation is a Christian educational organization whose mission is to spread liberty, justice, and prosperity among the nations by educating individuals in a Biblical worldview."
I understand that a lot of Jews are willing to set aside the "Rapture agenda" and focus on how Bush and the Fundementalists are supportive of Israel. But seriously, how can you align yourself with a party that flaunts its disregard for the Constitution and simple consideration for the beliefs of others?
