Hi Everybody!Class was interesting this week. I was taking my regular notes, but so many questions kept popping up while Mr. Mike was explaining the inherent duality within psychology, I was scribbling my own questions in the margins. Questions in margins are a joy; and if it is any consolation, I make notes all the time. If it's not a note, it is an idea that cannot leave me. In your case, however, these questions address fundamental concerns in psychology. Bravo. Although Plato may not come up explicitly, his ideas will come up repeatedly in class. Next week, for instance, Freud's ideas and those of his students will be presented, and you may be able to rethink your questions in a different manner.

I'm looking foward to Freud's students, especially Horney, her "womb envy" theory had me LOL. Not because I have a feminist axe to grind where Freud is concerned. Freud was remarkably liberal(for the time)when it came to teaching women and his relationships with women seemed quite good. I liked Horney's theory because it was as sound as "penis envy" she just switched the body parts and made her point beautifully. I really can't resist an approach that requires one to walk a mile in the other person's shoes, that concept is the heart of psychology ( ... )
