Did you have the equipment insurance on it?

There is a secret policy at Verizon Wireless, last I knew, that allows you to get a new handset at the promo price if you sign a new contract, even if your current contract is not up.

who was the service thru? if it was sprint and you had the 5$/mo insurance, they'll replace it.
