I am adding a cut to let you know it is a bibilical 'soap box' post
I keep seeing these comments about how if we use the bible to dondemn certain acts (ie homosexuality or divorce) then why dont we condemn the wearing of polyester, and of vegetable gardens in our yards cause in Leviticus 19 they are also forbidden....
ha! bad general english is what the problem is...if you study the true meanings of the hebrew it means this
you shall not sow your field with mixed seed, neither wear a garment of linen mixed with wool.
well if you mixed corn with wheat and spread that around...how much darned sense is that?
and anyone who knows anythinga bout wook and linen know they are stupid fabrics with almost opposite wear and shrink properties....
God's laws were given as much for common sense as for worship. In fact, most of the laws of diet and daily living (household and actions) are just common sense and make life easier and happier.
The sacrificial and social (rape, murder, marriage) laws are the ones that show our reverence and self control....the others help make like a bit easier, healthy, and happy....in the end they are all good for us. We are no longer bound by sacrificial law since we have our eternal sacrifice.
