so. i havent updated in a VERY long time. so i apologize for this being so long.

on the 22nd we started our new weekly dinner parties. its very nice cause its something we didnt really take part in last semester. and its with all new people from this semester so its very nice getting to know them. we decided to have themes now too. which yesterday (april 5th) was our first. we had breakfast. it was delightful.

the weekend of the 24th was an Ohel Avraham Shabbat. we went to host families and i was really worried about it at first because last time it was a disaster. but this time it was AMAZING. we went to this family who was originally from italy but they made aliyah a week after they got married. they have three daughters two of which were at dinner and then their grandmother was also there. the daughters went to high school with hidai who is like one of the coolest people on kibbutz lotan so it was cool and we all felt a nice connection. we had a delicious dinner of this like rice and mushroom dish that even danielle liked and shes a really picky eater so it was good. and then we had fish and salads and CHEESECAKE! it was so nice. and we had such lovely conversation. i hope we get to go back to them soon.

the saturday was eliyahus birthday who is the guy who i talked about a while ago that took us on a sunrise walk. it was a beautiful celebration. we sold/ate cake. cause it was a fundraiser for a mentally handicapped center in haifa.

TUESDAY the 28th was election day in israel. it was really an exciting day and we watched the election so much. its amazing that like a center left party got the most seats. its going to hopefully be good for israel. cause their like alliance or whatever the right term is is also with a fairly liberal party. it was also the riding4reform event led by the IMPJ. not all of us got to ride but mari, isaac, and jenn did. they said it was really fun. we went and met them at the park and it was REALLY awkward because the leaders seemed like they were disappointed in us. but we couldnt raise enough money for more than 3 riders. and whatever, we still donated money and showed our support.

the weekend was a free shabbat. i was orginally going to go away but we were under strict restrictions because of the elections and we couldnt ride buses or go to places to explore. so i stayed here with sarah. it was really fun. thursday night danielle sarah lina and i had dinner together and then danielle and i went to a party. we hung out with some boys that our friend jake knows from the technion and then i had a sleepover with one of my friends. friday sarah and i sat outside for hours with jake and then shmu and i got really sunburned but it was worth it because it was BEAUTIFUL outside. we just chilled and had a beer. it was so relaxing. then at night i watched a movie and sarah and mari went out (because mari had come back). sunday we went on a field trip with the womans class to atlit illegal immigrants camp. i never realized that israel had camps like this. it reminded me of pictures ive seen of concentration camps but a little better and they treated people a little better. but its cool because the palmach had a big operation to free all the immigrants which was very successful. after atlit we went to zikron yaacov and hung out and learned about some historical stuff there. it was not that good because it was raining and cold but mari, deborita, pavlina and i had a very nice lunch at a little cafe and we found a really cool store on the way out so it was cool.

this week. not much happened. today is mikes birthday. i had my hebrew midterm i think/hope i did okay. and i also did my hebrew presentation this week on why im scared of birds. it went very well.

also i finally have a new teacher for biblical theology for the next few weeks. hes the head of the overseas department but thats okay. his class today was REALLY good. so it was nice. and thats about it for this post.
