(no subject)
so we didnt go to dalia. we ended up going to downtown haifa or pornville as we affectionally call it. it was VERY slummy and it had mainly mens clothing stores and sold a lot of porn videos.
we did have very tasty french fries or chips as they call them here.
at night we had a VERY fabulous dinner. there were about 60 people all together. it was as close to traditional thanksgiving as you can get in a country that doesnt celebrate it.we had turkey, cranberry sauce (FROM THE CAN), stuffing (made from rice not bread), sweet potatos, cuscus, vegetables, spicy stuff, and bread. it was delicious. and it made me not really homesick because it felt like i was with a HUGE family. i sat with this girl named Bashi who actually goes to Champlain which will be AMAZING when i go home cause ill get to see her. but she was so excited she was like "IN AMERICA!..." or like "LOOK AT THIS ITS LIKE IN AMERICA.." it was adorable.and it really was a day of giving thanks. let us all thank G-d for giving us Mari Gordon on this day.

friday. ilana and i went to Grand Kanyon (the mall) and she got her belly button pierced. then we got really cool bags and i got a new belly button ring. then we went to the supermarket and got pasta sauce, brownies, sprite and strawberry spirits. then we came back and had dinner with laura and sarah and then started watching i heart huckabees. but then we got bored so jenn and danielle joined us and we had our spirits and cake. then we went outside just the girls (that were in haifa minus yael) and hung out and then our friend mike from canada came and we hung out. after we came back upstairs and i hung out with mike and then went to bed.
saturday. i sat around my room for a while. worked on my midterm paper for contemporary israel which i didnt actually start but no one did so its okay. then at night me, ilana, jenn, danielle, yael, isaac, mike and atag went to deenrash. its a pasta place thats only 25 shek a plate. then we got icecream. the girls minus ilana got a bus to a mini mart and then we walked back to the university
sunday (today) was a leo baeck day. not much to say about that except there was AMAZING weather. it was like one of those days between spring and summer. mmm. heaven.
