(no subject)
Thursday i went to dalia (the druze village)with yael and laura. it was a lot of fun its such a cool place. we bought some cool things and ate at an amazing druze restaurante. unfortunatly we got stuck there for 2 hours waiting for a cab but it was really cool. i was standing outside looking for a cab and all the sudden like at least 30 people walked by in druze outfits walking to wherever they go to pray. it was cool cause it was like a mecca and it was kind of awe inspiring.
friday we woke up at 530 for our contemporary israel trip to the galeel. it was really cool we went down to where the syrian border and the lebanese border are. and we explored all these cool places. its crazy that in israel we can not only go back to the beginning of time to places but we can go back to the start of the country in 1967 and see all the places that the battles were recently fought. it was also cool cause my teacher was a medic in the army so he has all kinds of stories cause he fought in a lot of the wars. we had druze food for lunch and it was delicious. when we left the last place which was a bunker we were bombarded by hail it hurt a lot but it was cool. i put pictures up on my website so chcek them out. then we had services at ohel avraham. it was amazing because all of carmel was SO happy and it was so fun. then we had dinner with host families and while at first we felt intrusive it was really nice to be with a family. we talked about everything under the sun and had delicious food. when we got back. adam from netzer was here so we chilled with him. he stayed until sunday morning.
saturday we had services in the morning led by me and yael. we did it on dreams to tie in with this weeks torah portion.then we had a lovely oneg/brunch with all of carmel. for dinner since it was christmas eve we all ate together. we had pizza in the bean bag room of the moadon. we also had havdallah where yael told us another balshemtov story. im going to miss her telling us stories.
sunday we had leo baeck which was basically all evaluations and then we had a goodbye party for yael and a happy birthday party for charlie. and then ADAM MARGOLIS came to visit me. we went to a holiday/end of semester party and then we just hung out. it was SO nice seeing someone from home. anddd we found out that we will both be on lotan at the same time! so ill get to see him after vacation.
monday not much happened. i had my first final of my college life. it was in introduction to rabbinic literature. we wrote for THREE hours straight. at night yaels dad took 10 of us out to dinner at the thai restaurante. it was DELICIOUS.
today not much happened. except i found out i may have a problem coming home more than just being questioned at the airport but im not going to get into it until i find out for real. also, alyssa greenberg. i love you and your family a lot. and i am so sorry for everything. and it will be okay eventually. i love you and if you need anything i am here.
i should be home in 3 days. well see.
