Sugarcult 5/12/07
So...this was DEFINITELY an awesome week, the highlights being: [not officially yet, but most likely] getting an A in my math class, meeting Jepha and Quinn again and getting to hear the new The Used album, and finally, Sugarcult!
So on Saturday I was bitching and moaning that I wasn't going to be able to see The Used in Tucson, but I later found out that they had to cancel because there's something wrong with Bert's vocal chords. Was I happy? Oh yes I was. haha it makes me feel like such a bitch that I'm happy at Bert's misfortune but I'm SO glad I didn't have to miss it! lol
Anyway, so on Monday The Used were having this listening party/meet and greet at Gameworks and me and Andrea rushed over there after work and we got inside right away. Basically they were playing their album thru the whole place and upstairs in this special room thing was where the meet and greet was. There was no line so we had to stand in the glob of well over a hundred emo kids for about an hour before we finally made it up to where the guys were. Only Jepha and Quinn were there...obviously Bert wasn't there bc of his voice and I don't know why their new drummer wasn't there... oh well! Anyway, we met Quinn first and took our pics with him...he was really sweet because I basically gushed to him about how much I love their new stuff and I could tell he was touched and he thanked me over and over in a really appreciative way. Here we are!
So after 10 more minutes in a dense, sweaty crowd, we finally made our way to Jepha. Andrea showed him the pic of them she took back on the Tase Of Chaos tour 05...this one haha:
Anyway, I guess she wanted to recreate it or whatever but it ended up looking like this:
lmao He got all surprised while she kissed his cheek and yelled out "WHOA!!" then proceded to write "sneaky" on her poster lmao Anyway.. I wasn't that interesting with Jepha... I just had him sign my thing and took the pic and then told him how much I loved the new stuff. Here's my pic with him:

So moving on to the Sugarcult show....
We got there at 6, which was when the doors were supposed to open and we rushed our asses over there, thinking that there would be a huge line and crap but there wasn't! Oh well, so we went to the bar next door and we saw Airin there...sooo we got ourselves a drink and sat at a table next to him haha We didn't talk to him though...
So then we went back into the venue and who just so happen to be in there? Marko 72 of course! So we said "hi" real quick and got a hug then he left. Then Andrea decided she wanted to use the ATM so she could buy some merch so we went BACK to the bar next door and we saw Marko outside sitting with Airin now so we decided to go over and sit with them (plus this girl that Andrea is friends with was sitting with them too so we didn't look like weirdos haha). So we talked with Marko and then he offered the 3 of us a free drink ticket to whoever would give him a massage and of course Andrea practically jumped out of her seat "I'll do it!" even though that bitch wont EVER give me one! "My hands get tiiiirrreedd! I can't dooo iiiiiit" So I showed Marko my pics on my camera from the last show they played and when he was done with his shoulder massage he decided he wanted to take a walk and see the sunset bc he loves AZ sunsets apparently haha
After he left we got up and Andrea decided to get her free drink and as she was doing that, Tim walked in looking like a scraggly bleach blonde bum lmao I didn't even recognize him! So we hung around for a little while more while Andrea drank her drink and I tried to muster up the guts to go up to Tim.........yeah that didn't work haha
So after that, Andrea got her merch and I came up with the brilliant idea to invite Marko to dinner with us.. seeing as we're all "friends" now or whatever haha So we went back over there looking for him and about half an hour we saw him again in the venue by the merch booth. I tried to get Andrea to ask him bc I was chicken and when he finally stopped talking to whoever he was talking to and started to walk away, Andrea wasn't paying attention so I called out his name and waved him back over. Andrea STILL wasn't paying attention so I decided to just go for it and as he was hugging me I said, "Do you wanna get something to eat with us?" And he said, "Oh! Where at??" And I told him, "There's a few places around here..or I could just drive us somewhere..." and he said, "Well, you know what? I haven't spent that much time in here [bc he likes to hang out by the merch and meet people] and when I eat before I play I get kinda blah..." And I told him I understood and it was okay and then he goes, "But thanks! It was real nice of you to ask me on a date...*looks at me then Andrea* on a double date! But how about after the show the 3 of us get shots... so like the lime could be our meal" lmao! oh man, how cute is that??
So by then, there was only one opening act left so we went up and got in the front so we could be there when Sugarcult started. lalala So finally they went on at about 9:30ish... I'm not gonna go into details about it but it was awesome, of course! Plus there wasn't a barricade so we were like inches from their faces haha Oh! and a few times Marko and Tim came down into the crowd so they had to pummel through me and Andrea to get down there lol
After the set was over, we had to leave in a hurry because Andrea had to be home by midnight and it was already 11:45 So we said bye to the guys and took pics with Marko before taking off.... And we didn't get to do shots with him :(
