i have to admit, having had a faster math track might have helped me in college. i didn't have enough calculus in HS to do well in other related classes like physics. and in my school, i was following an accelerated math track, but that gave us pre-calc in senior year.
I knew a surprising number of kids who "failed" Kindergarten. I wonder if, after proving themselves the second time around, they get different treatment.
I had no idea that my hometown was kind of advanced for its era. When I was in scool, something like 1/3 of the students got Algebra 1 in 8th grade and then Algebra 2 in 9th.
