DEE FIC!!!!!!

I saw this recced over at crack_van (not sure how I missed it before), and debated reading it because I've been working on my own Dee fic and am right at the part where she's deciding to leave Lee, and didn't want to be influenced. But I'm glad I said "Oh, heck with it" and clicked anyway.

Dee is one of my absolute favorite characters, and finding good fic about her is hard. I really, really loved this- it really captures the dichotomy of Dee's personality, how she's so professional and competent, but at the same time she's still a young woman. And the regret she feels over Billy... love that.

The Dee/Lee relationship is one that I feel like it's hard to write because the writers didn't really know what they were doing with it, and at the same time there's so much room to play with it. This is so well done, and I very much enjoyed it.

I haven't really posted it anywhere other than here and ff.net because I've never written anything for BSG before. But I kept thinking about how Lee is so different with Dee, and the wedding bands, and just everything.

He definitely is. It's really hard to find good Dee/Lee fic, that doesn't make Dee evil for intruding on the Kara/Lee relationship. Heck, it's hard to find good Dee fic period, because I'm not crazy about her paired with Gaeta. (Don't get me wrong- I adore Gaeta and I love his friendship with Dee. But a lot of the Dee fic is Dee/Gaeta, which I'm just not into.)

My problem is actually at times with Lee. He frustrates the heck out of me :) (Plus, I don't much respect him for the whole thing with Kara while he was married.) But, hey. It makes good stories.

My Dee fic starts here. It's novel-length, I'm afraid, and started out just as an idea of a bitch fight between Dee and Hoshi. It got a little carried away. It's a WIP, but I update every Friday and should be done soon. (Working on this chapter as we speak!)

Again, great stuff, and heading over to check out some of your other stuff! (I used to be hardcore Remus/Sirius in the day, and I see that in your tags...)

You'll be disappointed, actually - I ship Remus/Tonks but I'm one of those shippers that's okay with a prior relationship but doesn't believe she's just a beard. But I hope that my fic is still slightly appealing ;)

Oh wow, this is simply wonderful. You captured all those little moments -- I remember thinking, "He's still wearing his ring! Why's he still wearing his ring?" And I like the way you've worked her relationship with Billy in here, too, because that all went so badly surely she must have wondered what if sometimes... I don't think I'm doing this fic justice, but it's awesome. I love Dee/Lee, too!

So I'm clearly late commenting here co sidering how avidly I advocated for this fic. But better late than never, yes?

Point is, this is amazing. Your Dee voice is amazing. She us so neglected in both the show and fic but you bring her to life so beautifully. I live it.

Great story. You discribe the relationship so good and I love the way you did it. I love stories about Dee/Lee but there is not so many stories about them so I was very glad that I found your story it was amazing. You write very good and I hope you will keep writing Dee/Lee stories :D
