So tonight, a man in West Chester told me I deserved to have my "fag body" thrown into a meat grinder, and I have been crying since 9:45 because of it.

i couldn't stop thinking about your story all day and, i realized, that what's disturbing me even more about it than the violent homophobe was the fact that you were warned about this guy as someone who is homophobic but " a really nice guy. Hilarious. Great to drink with."

this is so incredibly painful and shocking to me because anyone who would know what he is given to saying and still defend him in this way either is wearing the double blinders of "i don't know any queers" and "i also don't know anyone who would rape, maim, stalk, or murder these queers who i don't know", or they are accepting the violent hatred that he is spewing because it does not apply to them directly.

i'm sorry because you said your mother described him this way to you and i would not be bashing on someone else's mom. it is the attitude i see in how the people who have more power than you, ie, not being the ones he specifically wishes to throw into a meat grinder, did not take a stand for you far before this incident.
