The train wreck of films that was 2012 is over, fucking finally (kiss your arses good-bye ArgoFuckYourself, Nay Miserbales, & Breaking Yawn: Part II). I can’t say the 2013 Movie Year will be any less of a batch of hot messes since there hasn’t been enough info/trailers released yet on the new hell spawns for Oscar season (although browsing the list

The (het) snogging, luckily, is all you see there. Just one scene. The rest: a sociopathic killing spree. No one's forcing you to go see it, though. But I think it looks pretty damn good.

In spite of how the gif makes it look, this isn't exactly a sexy moment. It's a creepy moment. When he looks straight at the camera, he's looking at the daughter. He's realising they've been found out and isn't exactly ashamed about it...
If you are the sort that likes to distinguish between "horror" and "psychological thriller", this will fit quite happily into the latter category. ;)

In case you missed it, I reviewed this here:

I didn't find it to be a limited release here in the UK at all. It was nice and easily available at our local cinema. In fact, we saw "Stoker" because there were so few showings available of "Cloud Atlas".

As far as I know, it's gotten great release in the UK. It's only playing in select cities in the US for whatever reason (I mean, beyond the Sundance release in January). It's not even playing in Japan, where one of my friends lives who has expressed interest in the film. I'm currently living in Las Vegas, Nevada (the shittiest place on Earth) and as far as I know, it's not playing here. I've been checking every single day. Actually, I don't think it'll ever come here. It's rare for films like Stoker to ever get a release here. It was just by chance that the recent Jane Eyre was showing in one cinema as well as The Woman in Black. Sadly, no one bothered to show Wuthering Heights so I'm still waiting to see that. I hope Stoker comes here. I'd like to experience it in the cinema.
