See, what you do then is you get a PC laptop... and install Linux on it. That automatically gives you an attitude far superior to anyone else on the planet, no matter what degree they have and how much they earn. ;)
Oh, honey, never EVER feel inadequate at the Apple Store! Those kids that work there reek of Geekier Than Thou and let me tell you: they have little or no experience with actual support. I've done Mac support since 1995 and I PROMISE, the Apple Store Weenies (my term of endearment :->) are all blow with no show. Go in there with your head high and your Geek Hat on securely. Don't let them intimidate you! *You* know more about your Mac than they do, because you use it everyday.
You know why your Mac is sent off 90% of the time? Because they have no real techs at the Stores. You live in Jersey, so there *must* be an authorised Mac support store somewhere up there! Here in Atlanta, we use Onyx for all warranty and/or bizarre hardware work on Macs. Unless it's mine, I won't even crack a 'Book case. Onyx is an authorised warranty shop and they do ALL the work on site. Brilliant!
