We're down in sunny Florida.  We got in Yesterday (Tuesday) and spent Tuesday and Wednesday in Palm Coast seeing my Dad. We got some stuff for the nursing home and such. Went to the elder care lawyer to continue the paperwork chase for Medicaid.  We left palm coast about 3pm local

Wow, that's a whole ton of bricks, isn't it? I'm so very sorry. You have my deepest sympathy, especially the part about handling logistics when you want to grieve.

The elder care lawyer should be useful now. I never minded being an only child... until my parents got sick. Dad's lawyer kept telling me I was lucky to be an only; he'd seen way too many siblings arguing about nursing homes and health care directives and, well, everything. I guess he had a point.
