My warrior is just about to hit 83. I've finished Vash'jir (interesting ending there) and I'm partway through Deepholm now. I just spent some time last night discovering the dungeons so that I can easily go if my guild goes on a run. I haven't decided if I'll go back and do Hyjal when I'm 85, or if I'll save it for my level 60 shaman (of my baby worgen priest, if he somehow manages to level that fast *g*).
I think warriors have it easier on the dual-spec tank/dps gear front. It's mostly the same stats I think, except with different priorities (whether stamina is more important than strength, dodge/parry/armor vs hit/crit/etc). I'm glad they implemented that gear manager thingy though. Now if only they'd tie it in with the spec switch. I suppose I could macro it though...
I just use Outfitter and tie that to the gear manager. I can set it up to auto switch based on what form I'm in (druid ftw) or I can just use the outfitter bar portion to quick click my sets.
I'd go back and do Hyjal. You're going to want the rep anyway, so may as well do it. I have to hit exalted on like 3 or 4 reps to get some good gear going since I'm gearing up two specs to be useful in heroics.
Deepholm is awesome by the end. I noticed that things just get crazier and crazier as you go. Uldum is a fantastic set of quests, too. And Twilight Highlands is hillarious and awesome and high in holy shit moments.
I did like doing the Vash'jir instance after finishing the quest lines in there. Felt very nice to stomp all over the Naga's overwhelming self importance. :D
I used to use Outfitter and have it switch my gear when I changed stances. Since I don't really ever stance dance, that wasn't a problem. Since I came back to the game, I haven't bothered putting all the addons back in. I'm going more minimalist this time ;)
Hyjal definitely had a cool intro quest (the hero board one). Hello two big NPC's I wasn't expecting to see right then!
You have to love that Deepholm has a quest where you need to hide in a box. ;)
Oh, the Naga deserve to be stomped. *g* What did you think of Vash in general? I enjoyed it, but man, the swimming was a pain at times. It reeeeeeally doesn't work well with charge abilities. Half the time there's no path available. You'd think they'd have been careful to make the Battlemaiden's charge ability work correctly during those quests at least ;)
I loved the Battlemaiden stuff, but yeah charge was forked up, until I decided to pretend it was a land based zone. :p Cuz that is essentially what they did with the zone. :p
Get outfitter. :p It's tiny and worth the effort. :p
I have no idea what my problem is but I've only hit 82 on my Hunter and my Paladin. The Paladin, my 'main', is duoing solely with my wife so that's why I haven't rushed leveling with him, but my hunter should easily be 85. I think I got turned off to the spawn camping the first few days and just figured I'd wait to let the majority of people filter through.
I have nine 80s, but am making myself just play those two this time around. No need to go nuts. Holy Pally being my primary spec/character with the hunter being my fun dps machine. I even race changed him from Troll to Goblin, weeeeee. :)
I didn't have any problems with spawn camping. Respawns are nice and fast (sometimes too fast) so I was able to get all my nameds out of the way with minimal downtime.
The first few nights were horrid for my wife and I. When I was soloing my hunter I had to resort to the drop a trap on the spawn point and pray routine. After like twenty minutes of that I just let it go, wasn't worth getting frustrated over.
Yeah I didn't even attempt to play launch night, due to having work that morning. I played for a short period the day of launch, but didn't really dig in until Wednesday. Then I used Friday through Sunday to power to 85.
