Yamapi stared at Ryo. He felt his life was totally in a mess at that moment. His birthday was supposed to be a happy day for him. Although he was thrilled and extremely happy when he got the love confession, he just couldn’t give the answer, just not yet.

Yamapi turned around feeling an intense stare at his back sending shivers down his spine and saw Jin was staring at them.

‘Oh hell!!!’ Yamapi cursed at the back of his mind. Why has his life become so complicated all of a sudden. He turned to Ryo again and Ryo was staring daggers at Jin.

“He confessed to you didn’t he?” Ryo asked eyes still on Jin.

Yamapi thought ‘what would be the right answer to that question’ but Ryo didn’t wait for his answer. He marched up straight to Jin and seconds later they both were beating each other up.

“I told you I will confess first!” Ryo yelled. A hard punch hit Jin on his jaw.

Jin’s lips cracked but that didn’t stop him from yelling back.

“Who the hell cares what you said!? I have every right to confess first!” Jin yelled too, while attacking Ryo with a flying kick to his stomach. Ryo stumbled backward.

“That hurts, you idiot!”

“Did you think your punch doesn’t hurt? You hit me on the face! That’s one of my assets! You skinny monkey!”

“Idiot!”

“Monkey!”

“Stupid!”

“Midget!”

“Fat!”

“Skinny!”

Everyone was lost for words as they watched the two best friends continue bickering. The two just didn’t want to lose and kept throwing harsh words towards each other.

Yamapi walked up to them with two paper plates of cake in his hand. He then pressed each onto both of their faces.

“What the hell!?!” they barked in unison but shut their mouth right away when they saw it was Yamapi.

“This is my birthday party for god sake! You guys dare to ruin it with your childish bickering?!”

“I...” they both didn’t know what to say.

Yamapi wasn’t done being mad at them yet but he laughed out loud to see their guilty faces covered with the cake icing; it was just too hilarious.

Jin wiped the cake icing off his face and launched an attack to Yamapi’s face and Ryo did the same too.

“Oy! What the hell!” Yamapi’s face was covered with the icing as well.

Soon the atmosphere filled with laughter as the three boys kept throwing and smearing the icing on each other. Most of their friends shook their heads looking at the three best friends and chuckled amusedly. One moment they fight with each other like they hate each other like hell and the next moment they can fool around, forgetting that they ever threw a fist and a kick at one another.

Jin was helping Yamapi clean up the mess after the party. They were doing the dishes when Jin asked. “Pi, do you have the answer yet?”

“Jin, please give me some time okay? I love you and I love Ryo too. You guys are the most wonderful things to ever happen to me. I don’t want to ruin everything between us.” Yamapi is sure Jin can understand his predicament.

Jin nodded but Yamapi can see the sadness in those eyes.

“Sorry.”

Jin waved his hand, “No. I’m the one who should apologize because I confessed to you without thinking what might happen to us after that. What the confession will do to our friendship…”

Yamapi gazed deeply into Jin’s eyes making the older boy flush under his gaze. He leaned over and kissed Jin.

Jin was completely surprised. He just stood there unmoving and didn’t even reply to the kiss or pushed him back.

Yamapi pulled away and looked at Jin’s baffled face.

“One thing about you that I always love is you’re adorably simple minded. Even when confessing you really are the straight forward type.

“Pi, I have something to say,” Jin was fidgeting. He tried to keep his eyes on Yamapi’s questioning eyes but finally chose to look down at his feet.

“What is it, Jin?”

“I…I like you. So much that I…I love you!”

Yamapi can’t hide the shock but inside his heart he was tremendously happy by the confession.

Jin still didn’t look up to him and his face was furiously red.

He looked so adorable, Yamapi thought of hugging him and kissing him.

“Yo!” Ryo’s excited voice interrupted them and he walked through the opened door of Yamapi’s apartment with almost a dozen of their friends following from behind for Yamapi’s birthday party.

Jin just ran away excusing himself to the toilet.

Yamapi entered NEWS’ dressing room and most of the members were snickering at him.

“What?”

“Two confessions at the same time, what are you going to do about it?” Koyama asked.

“It doesn’t seem that Ryo-chan can wait anymore to know your answer” Tegoshi said while looking behind Yamapi.

Yamapi turned to his back and came face to face with Ryo.

“Good morning” Ryo said and walked pass Yamapi to his desk.

Yamapi nodded and smiled widely as he replied, “Morning.”

Their day filled with NEWS activities and they couldn’t get the time to talk about the confession. Ryo finally got the chance to bring up the matter when they were left alone after their morning dance practice.

Yamapi flopped down against the mirror in the practice room. Massu and Tegoshi had disappeared to find something to eat. Shige said he was going to do some practice for his drama and Koyama offered to help his best friend.

Ryo pulled out a water bottle from his bag and walked up to Yamapi.

“Hey, here drink this.” Ryo handed the bottle to Yamapi.

“Thanks” Yamapi took it feeling grateful because he forgot his water bottle inside their room and he was too tired to walk to fetch his drink, even asking Koyama to grab it for him. Yamapi gulped down almost half of it.

“Pi…” Ryo started.

Yamapi knew what Ryo wanted to say but he waited for Ryo to continue.

“What is your answer?” Ryo asked boldly as Yamapi had expected from Ryo.

Yamapi took a few seconds screwing back the cap of water bottle and gave it to Ryo. Ryo wasn’t patient enough but he took it and waited for Yamapi to speak.

“I love you Ryo, really, but…”

“It’s Jin right?” Ryo interjected.

Yamapi almost laughed at Ryo’s outburst.

“Is there any chance of me winning against Jin?”Ryo pouted.

Yamapi burst into laughs, “If you didn’t have the chance, I would have already given the both of you an answer…” he said. “I love both you and Jin and it’s hard for me to choose.”

Ryo said nothing to that and stayed silent.

‘Do I really have to make a choice? Can’t I have both of their love? How selfish can you get, Tomohisa?!’ Yamapi thought.

“Hey, guys!” Yuu greeted as he approached the guys; Yamapi, Jin and Ryo.

Yamapi was the only one who acknowledged his presence, “Yo!”

Jin had his hands crossed on his chest while pouting and Ryo at one corner sat crossed legged while staring at Jin.

“What’s with this tense atmosphere? Come on guys, we should enjoy ourselves. Just because you both love Yamapi, it doesn’t mean you can’t sit together right?”

Both Jin and Ryo shot a death glare at Yuu making the younger cower and shut his mouth before flopping down beside Yamapi. Not a second after, Ryo pulled him and Jin pushed him away from the seat.

“Okay, okay. I understand!” Yuu said holding up both hands in front of him.

He sighed and flopped down in defeat on a seat opposite of Yamapi, who was smirking in amusement. The other two sat down again, while the other two continued the glaring contest.

“Isn’t it suffocating with how the two acted?” Yuu asked through the phone one day.

Yamapi laughed, “It’s cute. They really should know how adorable they are when they act like that.”

“You’re crazy, you know that?”

Yamapi chuckled, “Yup, I’m crazy, I’m crazily in love with them. You know, I wish I could have both of them.”

“Oh my god, maybe I’m the one who is going crazy now, but too bad you can’t get both of them” Yuu joked.

Yamapi sighed, “But I just can’t say no to them either and of course I can’t stand to see them with anyone else either.”

Yuu laughed, “You’re so selfish!”

“It’s true!”Yamapi protested. “Besides…” Yamapi trailed, smirking at himself.

“Besides?” Yuu asked impatiently but didn’t get any answer from Yamapi who just continued to smirk as if plotting something in his head.

Ryo walked into Yamapi’s house smiling widely to the younger. His smile died down instantly when his eyes met Jin’s.

Yamapi noticed that and quickly chirped in, “Let’s eat” and pulled Ryo towards the dining table.

The atmosphere somehow tensed as Jin and Ryo kept glaring at each other. Yamapi wondered if his idea to tell his answer to both of them at the same time was a bad idea. He should’ve known better that these two cannot face each other.

After the quiet dinner, Yamapi pulled both of them towards the living room and seated between them on the couch. He disregarded the silent tension and put on a movie. Jin looked at him, Ryo raised an eyebrow and Yamapi ignored them.

“Ryo-chan, can you get the beers?” Yamapi turned to Ryo with a sweet smile.

“Uh, okay” Ryo went to the kitchen.

“Jin?”

“Yes?”

“Can you please grab some snacks in the cabinet?”

Jin looked at him bewildered; no way would he go to the kitchen now when Ryo was there.

Yamapi looked back at him with puppy eyes; Jin sighed silently and went to the kitchen. He saw Ryo squatting in front of the fridge and ignored him, Jin walked pass him to the kitchen cabinet.

“What is he trying to do?”

Jin was almost startled when Ryo asked him that question; he never expected Ryo would talk to him.

Jin just shrugged it off because he didn’t have the answer.

They came back to the living room and were greeted by a wide smiling Yamapi.

They continued the movie in the same mood, no one spoke at all, eyes glued to the screen, yet for Ryo and Jin, they kept wondering what Yamapi was trying to do.

“Let’s go to sleep.” Yamapi said casually after the movie ended and the credits were scrolling.

Ryo and Jin exchanged looks.

“Come on. You guys can sleep here. We can sleep together on my bed. It’s been so long since the last time we slept together on one bed” Yamapi said, eagerly getting up and turning off the TV. He pulled them both and led them to the bedroom.

“Pi, what are you trying to do?” Ryo asked exasperated.

Yamapi chuckled.

“Aren’t you going to give us your answer?” Jin asked.

“Come on, let’s go to sleep. I promise I’ll give you the answer” Yamapi said.

The three of them were lying on the bed; with Jin on Yamapi’s right and Ryo on the left.

“Do you remember when the last time the three of us slept on the same bed?” Yamapi asked suddenly.

Both Ryo and Jin tried to remember the memory.

“It was a long time ago” Jin spoke breaking the silent.

“When we were still a junior…” Ryo continued.

“Years ago…it was always the three of us Jin, Ryo and Yamapi…but now, it’s always Jin and Yamapi or Ryo and Yamapi…there’s no more Ryo and Jin…I feel sad when I think about it” Yamapi said.

Ryo fixed his eyes on the wall.

Jin shifted to his side and looked at Yamapi, then looked at Ryo. Their eyes met when Ryo turned to his direction as well.

“Do you know why I couldn’t give my answer?” Yamapi asked eyes sad as he looked straight up at the ceiling. “If I had to choose, I rather not choose at all because then there won’t be the three of us anymore…”

“Who said there’s no ‘Ryo and Jin’?”

Both Ryo and Yamapi turned to Jin.

“There will always be ‘Ryo and Jin’ because I love Ryo too”

“Yeah, me too. I love Jin too. It’s just that sometimes I get jealous because everywhere I go it always Yamapi and Jin together. Since I know Jin loves you, I couldn’t help but feel jealous, so I wanted to confess first, I don’t want to be left out.”

“What are you talking about?” Jin baffled. “I’m always away in the US and every time I call any one of you, you guys are always together, I’m the one who felt left out.”

Yamapi chuckled. “I can’t stand you both. You make me so miserable, but actually everything is so simple.” Yamapi turned to Ryo and gave him a quick peck and turned to Jin.

“No one left you out. Every time Ryo and I hang out together we always talk about you. About how you are doing, if you ever missed us, whether you are fine or having a cold…” Yamapi smiled and kissed Jin.

Jin looked over at Ryo and saw Ryo’s big smile.

When Yamapi withdrew, Jin leaned forward to kiss Ryo. “I love you too.”

“I’m so happy I don’t have to choose and I can get both of you” Yamapi said smiling gleefully.

“No, but who do you love most?” both Jin and Ryo asked.

Yamapi sighed, “Who cares? Besides, I didn’t ask you guys yet, who do you love the most?”

“Of course we love you…and Jin/Ryo-chan equally” Both Ryo and Jin replied in unison while grinning at each other.

“See!” Yamapi interjected.
