(ETA: I just noticed, but I think I've covered all three interpretations of 39 hahah)

Title: untitled
Unit for Points: Otokogumi
Word Count: 100
Characters: Machida

The year Machida spends away from Johnnys opens his eyes to a lot. He learns new forms of dance he never knew existed. He realizes that, for all he’s considered an excellent dancer within the jimusho, he’s still far from greatness. He finds he isn’t as accomplished as he’d thought he was.

He also discovers how rare it is to find friends who will both challenge and support him the way MA do.

Upon his decision to return, he makes a mental note to properly thank them by becoming an even better dancer (and maybe a few sappy j-web entries).

Unit for Points: Otokogumi
Word Count: 100 (excluding the tilde)
Characters: Kitayama, Tamamori

Holding onto his mother’s hand, eight-year-old Hiromitsu skipped happily down the hill to the supermarket. They were going because there was going to be a “39 sale” and she’d promised he could pick out one thing - anything he wanted! - from the store.

“Kaa-chan, I want a little brother! Do you think I’ll be able to find one at the super?”

His mother laughed and ruffled his hair, saying, “Well, if you can find one, I’ll buy him for you.”

“Look Kaa-chan, I found one!” Hiromitsu careened down the aisle, pulling a little boy with him. “His name’s Yuta!”

Title: Cool
Unit for Points: Otokogumi
Word Count: 100
Characters: Okamoto Kenichi & Keito

“Sankyuu,” Kenichi says, accepting their tickets from the woman behind the check-in counter at the London airport.

“Otousan,” Keito groans, slouching a little more in embarrassment. “It’s thank you, not - not three plus nine.”

In response, Kenichi slants an amused look down at his son. “I’ll have you know I was Mr. Cool in Japan back in the day.” He picks up his traveling bag and heads towards the terminal. “I’ll give you leave to be embarrassed of me when you become more popular than I used to be.”

Making exaggerated faces behind his father’s back, Keito slowly follows.
