The Comic Panel Exercise #1: Betty & Veronica

So, for those who may not know, the place where I work I see a lot of original comic book art, and since I'm currently trying to hone some Photoshop skills, especially coloring, every once in a while I come across some art that really strikes my fancy, and I make a high-res scan of one panel (only), in order to practice. Looks great to me, although I'm not any kind of authority. I like the abstract picture in the frame... it almost didn't catch my eye.

Bit of a cheat -- that's a Jackson Pollock cut-and-pasted. I hoped it wouldn't be too distracting. :)

Very cool. The only thing that I noticed was the shadow under the first balloon makes it look a little like it's floating there. Like it's an object in the room. But that's really minor.

Are you coming to the Dallas Comic Con? I'll be there.

Hey buddy, thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I can see what you're saying about the first balloon, I can adjust that shadow some. Not sure if I'll be out to the show or not, I may come pick your brain for Photoshop tips. :)
