 This is ridiculous. My life seems like its on pause. There's definitely no forward movement...just sort of this feeling like I'm in a waiting room- the second one you sit in alone with no windows and cool magazines to thumb through while you're waiting for the doctor to come in and give you three minutes of his time.

Sorry to hear you're feeling so discouraged. I know I never post on this but I hate seeing more of the good people get burnt out on this city and "scene."

Just remember how long things take here. Kristen and Soul Sister (both female DJs who get big respect) have put in something like seven years each between them building their parties, starting out in the salad days before the storm to boot.

Oh hey you! Thanks for your thoughts on my bitchfest...Yeah I understand that I haven't been doing the dj thing for a while since my college days. I used to work as a dj at the local hangout called "Yesterdays" which was very similar to the size and feel of the Circle bar. Back then I actually cued tapes up (crazy, I know) and there wasn't much access to cool music because not many people used the net back then. It was 90-91 and I also didn't have a lot of money so I would borrow from other kids- people with lots of cds were rare so it was mostly tapes. Many of us were broke.
I realize that all this is just old timey talk and it is time for me to move on. Yeah, I've been promised a show on OZ. That is something to look forward to. But in the meantime I am getting really disappointed. I wish I wasn't all the way uptown...then I could go to the Saturn bar, etc. and it wouldn't seem so far to drive. Thanks Allison for the perspective...
