THE APPLICATION
Just the basics, baby.
Name/Nickname: Petra
Age: 18
Location: Finland
Describe yourself in 5 words: I, you, we, us, they
Mareh's questions.
1. Which sex position are you most eager to try (or which one do you enjoy the most, if you're that lucky)? At the moment, being completely and head over heels in love, almost any position is perfect.
2. When you're writing something, do you prefer to print or do you write in cursive? I usually print, even though cursive looks more beautiful to me.
3. If you had to move to either a) Cuba, b) Romania, or c) Uganda, which would you choose and why? Probably Cuba: hot rhythms, slightly unstable circumstances, heat, beautiful houses. Also far away. Me and my boyfriend were supposed to travel to Cuba in October, but all the suitable flights were already booked. It broke our hearts, but we made a deal of spending our honeymoon there, then. One day. *Silly smiling*
4. If you could be any person, famous, infamous, or somewhere in the middle, who would you be and why? I could try being Jesus for a day (which is not Good Friday, I'd prefer). Well, I've actually always wanted to be born as Robin Hood.
5. What's your favorite snack? Anything that includes caffeine. That's what keeps me running these days, really. I'm working a little bit too hard, one could say - see the bags under my eyes.
Lilleh's questions.
1. If you had to choose between a) getting infected with the funny syphillis, b) punching an old person in the face, or c) reading War and Peace over and over for eternity, what would you choose? Well, I already kind of read War and Peace for eternity, so I could go with that... I could never punch an old person and I don't like the idea of the funny syphilis, either.
2. What is completely and utterly essential to you in your daily life? To be able to be alone every once in a while. Also hand cream and lip balm.
3. Define twoo wuuuv. (aka LOVE, because I am a hopeless romantic. *gush*) It's the warm feeling in you stomack, wanting to see the other person smiling, wanting to touch his/her neck, wanting to be the one for him/her.
4. Please explain to me your religious/spiritual/whatever you'd like to call it beliefs. You won't be judged on this at all, and may skip it if you wish (however, you need to make up for it by making me laugh!), this is purely for my curiousity.
I'm an active member of my Lutherian parish. Those people who know me tend to say that I'm a very liberal Christian and I like to think I really am, too. I also wish to be studying theology one day - without bringing my own beliefs into it, though. It's the history of church that is there for me.
5. What's your favorite place to be?
My living room and the bed that plays couch since my actual couch is a shitty little bag waiting to be liquidated. I like my bedroom, too. If my bed only was a bit wider...
Let's play favorites.
5 Favorite bands/musicians: Kent, Mew, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol, Sir Elwoodin hiljaiset värit
5 Favorite movies: The Roman Holiday (Audrey Hepburn!), Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid (the chemistry!), Man on the Moon (I hate Jim Carrey in any other movie, but in this one he's a genious), Lolita (young girl & older man!), The Godfather (bang! badang!).
5 Favorite TV shows: News, Gilmore Girls, Emmerdale (no, I'm not even ashamed!), historical documents, Sex & The City.
5 Favorite books: Duncker: Hallucinating Foucault, Bulgakov: The Master & Margarita, Timo K. Mukka: The Earth Is A Sinful Song, Väinö Linna: Here Under The Northern Star trilogy, P. Wilkon & J. Wilkon: Eine Katzenfamilie (a book for children, actually, but also the guide of my life).
(If you're asking yourself, why 5? It's because Mareh thinks that number is very erotic.)
Everyone's entitled to their opinion.
Please give us at least 1 paragraph for each of the following.
Pornography: I'm fine with it as long as it doesn't consist of something illegal (rape, children, animals etc.) Fan fiction (slash), for example, is very enjoyable if it's well-written.
Abortion: It depends on the case, but the child should be the reason to make the choice - the most important thing is to be able to provide the child with circumstances that make it possible for him/her to live and develope.
Gay Marriage: All I have to say: YAY! (Now you see why some people call me a liberal Christian?) Yes, call me a romantic, silly fool, but I believe that once you've found the love, you don't question the feeling - if it feels right, it can't be that wrong. Being a bisexual myself, I understand the importance of not having to think whether it's right or wrong to fall in love - not having an issue with loving someone, at all. I can't really see the difference between falling in love as a straight person and as a gay person.
Gender roles in today's society: Vary a lot, depending on the country, nation and religion. Things are never black and white, there are always shades of gray, too - even though I sometimes try to resist that as hard as I can.
Pepsi vs. Coke: I wouldn't care, truth to be told, but my boyfriend has a passion for Pepsi, so I've been drinking mainly it lately.
Censorship: Is censorship protection or overprotection? Would it be right for example not to censor porn from kids? Where do you draw the very fine line? Censorship is a part of human society, even though it's usually called 'the law'.
Anarchy: What is anarchy these days? You don't really get the picture when you're living in a country like Finland. My thoughts on anarchy consist of violence, which is wrong, since I know that it can purely mean being aware of your surroundings. I have to confess that I have no such anarchy of resistance in me, at least through the channels that are often mentioned in the same sentence with 'anarchy'.
Capital Punishment: I'm happy there is no such thing in Finland. On the other hand, we've never really had for example any real serial killers like in the USA. In a way I think that capital punishment is an option that doens't force the criminal to think about the concequences of his/her actions when it comes to other people; it concerns the bad guy the most. Of course there are people around him too, but does the capital punishment force the crimal to think about the victims?
PETA or Animal Rights in general: Human rights are definitely closer to my heart, but I respect and admire everyone who has something to believe in and fight for.
The 'we-can-all-be-artists-and-take-shoddy-FOTOS!' movement among the teens: Teenage is the most difficult disease of your life. I'll allow teens to take shoddy fotos, it'll pass.
A little something extra.
