American Life on Mars. NO. JUST NO. Like you, I gave it a shot, but that show relies on chemistry and no one can top Simm/Glenister.

Ugh, I watched it last night with my sister...and cringed and picked it apart the entire way through. Even my sister thought it was crap, and she's only seen a few eps of the original series. I'm trying to convince her to remedy that, because I really want to rewatch it to get this horribly inadequate facsimile out of my brain. It was just so...awkward...to watch! I shudder to think of the people who will only ever watch US!LOM and will think that it's *good*.

Sad thing is, I'll probably try to stick with it, just to see if it gets any better...even having read all the spoilers which indicate I'll be waiting quite a while. *sigh* Why can't I just forget it even exists?
