I watched tonight 'Marple: A murder is announced' (2005) and I rediscoverd a lovely woman who I did know already - Frances Barber.
What a stunning woman!!!
I saw her live on stage in May 2009. She played the Comtesse de Saint-Fond in 'Madame de Sade' alongside Dame Judi Dench.
She played also the weird Lady at the back aka Vanessa in the episode 'Owed ( Read more... )

Thanks - that was very interesting; I do not recall Frances Barber right now (whom does she play in "Missionary"? One of the prostitutes?) - but what she tells about Ian ♥ ... I 'love' him so much *gg*, there was no need to add to that, but it surely did! I was so tempted earlier this year to go and see his "Waiting for Godot" with Patrick Steward, too - but there was no money to burn and obviously it was sold out all the time anyway *sigh*.

I think that she played one of the prostitutes. I have seen Missionary only once long time ago. Imdb says she played 'Mission girl'. Hey Emma Thompsons sister is playing a Mission girl too. Great.
I think I need to watch the movie again.

We were in London as Ian played in 'Waiting for Godot' but we decided to go to Judi (and Frances ;) ) twice instead of seeing Ian. Maybe a mistake.

I have to add again that Frances has such a lovely voice!!!
I could sink into her voice.
Especially the second piece of music is wonderful. I like the increase of the volume from the beginning til the end. And she supports it with her powerful voice. <3
