You aint in Kansas anymore. That's the difference between big and small schools. At OES things didn't get tremedously cliquey becasue there weren't enough people. That's why I shyed away from Syracuse.

don't give up yet... you just need to find your niche. try to think about what drew you to the school when you were looking at colleges, and then think about what you like about it now that you're there... most likely, there are people there that you will find some affinity with; you just need to find them.

Hey...I know we talked like almost all day today, but of course I couldn't stay silent too long. Yeah, it blows that right now you're homesick and that for the most part the people there really blow right now. But remember, you couldn't wait to leave here and you loved it there for at least at little while, "su is like the happiest place on earth!" No school will ever be perfect and knowing you, you'll stick out and end up LOVING it. You probably won't ever want to come home again. Whatever decision you come to, make if for yourself, not for anyone else or for any other reasons, you'll be happier for it in the long run.

Hey Jean, I am sorry I haven't talked to you in a while... please call me, i know exactly how you feel. I am not home sick, but i often question if I fit in at Penn - it is much different than I thought it would be. I know it's the place for me, just as you will find out Syracusse is right for you, cause you did research it and there is nowhere else that fits better - but i know, east coast people are different. I miss west coast people so much. Everyone here is Jewish and from Jersey or Long Island and thus is tooo cool to talk to someone from Oregon. And, I totally understand the size thing - My school is 10,000 people too - and I hate NOT knowing everyone and knowing their names. Finally today i had a good day and felt like i fit in and am feeling content at penn... but it takes time - and its harder for east coast college-ers like us. So, stick in there and give me a call on my cell (503-701-0713) - and i know's it a phase and you'll love it. It just takes time - and remember its only been a month.. So, keep in touch... ( ... )
