Lexi's fellowship money ran out which means we are now living on one income and no health insurance for either of us. I will apply to get us on my office's health insurance but we have to wait until July for open enrollment and I'm not sure if they'll cover Lexi

Are you eligible for Medicaid?

Find out if loss of prior coverage is a qualifing event for your current plan at work.

You may also be eligible for a HIPAA Conversion but they tend to be expensive.

Maybe Short Term Medical coverage. It won't touch pre-ex but it is something and HIPAA compliant in many cases. But not all-check the policy wording before buying any policy.

Neither of us has a physical disability nor a significant enough mental health condition (I guess we're just average in that regard) so we don't qualify for medicaid.
We're OK on health care until August, as it turns out, so the worst of the worry is over, as I indicated in my later post. Thanks for your advice, though!
