winter is pretty much here in cny.  it's been snowing for a few hours no and it's actually sticking to the ground and to the road.  there's rumors that we may get up to a foot today and there's a lake effect snow warning in effect until 1:00 this afternoon.  guess i should get a snow brush for the car at some point...

Driving to work this morning, I discovered that once you get a half a mile south of the city limits, there's no snow. And starting around ox Creek, there were no clouds either. It's all sunshine & blue skies in B'ville right now.

from what i can tell by looking out the window, we've got about 4" or so right now and it's still lightly falling - sprinkling, if you will.

If it makes you feel any better, shortly after I posted my first comment, it started snowing here too. Apparently the band finally came south.

And here I am with my snowblower at the shop being serviced. Guess I should have had that taken care of back in October. Looks like I've got some shoveling in ahead of me tonight. *sigh*

well, the snow has stopped and it's almost sunny out. by the time you get home, you should be all set.

meanwhile, my grandmother, back home for only a week, is reveling in the fact that there is snow. vegas is so dry, dusty, hot, and freezing cold that you would think that a little snow wouldn't mean that much to her. but she was so tired of looking at brown rocks.
snow makes her happy.

luckily, there isn't so much that it can't be swished off with my wipers. i'm totally unprepared at this point.

I desperately need new wipers -- they're functioning, but just barely at this point. I guess I better get to the store sometime soon. lol

It's stopped snowing here (for now) and some of it has already melted off the grass. I guess the ground is still a little warm (yay).

how is it that you don't have a snowbrush?? Did you sell the last one you had with your previous car??

there is snow on our distant mountains. I like snow there. It can stay in the mountains as far as I'm concerned.

i had a telescoping one so that, essentially, i could be lazy and clean 3/4 of my car from one spot. the telescoping part and it kept collapsing, so i tossed it at the end of the season. i meant to replace it, but you know how that goes...
