Hey Everyone :) So, its been forever, but really, I couldn't think of much to say.

So, lets see....

I spent a long weekend in Maryland with my sister visiting with latxcvi which was a lot of fun.  I did leave my credit card in a restaurant on the last night we were there, which is something I have never done in my life, but I realized it pretty quickly ( Read more... )

Hi!!!!!

We got the tail end of Irene in NJ. Not too much damage just a lot of rain. Me, I'm fine, started taking evening classes and still looking for work. Staying with the cousin from hell though.

Have you heard about Tom being nominated for best superhero in the scream awards? All the other nominees are film heroes and he's there.....I know it's probably because SV has ended but I also know people began to see "superman" in his performance in the last three seasons. This is awesome for him don't you think?

Hey there!

Sorry that your home stuff is so stressful. Just keep telling yourself is temporary, and if you can get through this, you can get through anything. LOL

I did hear about Tom's nomination, and I did vote for him. I don't think he has a chance of winning, but I still had to vote for my big guy.

The taping of Anderson Cooper's show sounds exciting. I agree with you about Amy Winehouse. She was very self destructive.

Sorry about hurricane Irene and your house/tree woes. I was in New Orleans for labor day. There was a fabulous rainbow on the way in, some heavy rain and wind gusts but that's about it. Odd timing for a first time visit, but my friends didn't want to change their plans.

I may be going to Harry Potter world for Halloween. That's it for trips right now.

As far as TV goes, I made a list of new shows that I want to watch but I haven't really been in the mood. I'm about to start on Season 2 of Mad Men on DVD. I watched Season 1 of BBC America's Luther which was amazing. I'm totally obsessing over Game of Thrones and the book series it's based on. I dunno if we watch any of the same shows anymore. *sadface*

I'm not sure I'd say it was exciting, but it was really interesting. Amazing how they put it all together. I just couldn't quite warm up to the Winehouse family. Its hard to put my finger on it.

Did you love New Orleans? I was there the year before Hurricane Katrina, and it was so much fun. Hotter then the freaking sun, but still fun. So many good restaurants, and the people are super nice. I'll never understand eating beignets and tar-like coffee for breakfast when its 1000F

Harry Potter World sounds like a blast.

I wish I could watch Luther, but I don't get BBC :( I'm so in love with Idris Elba. And I CAN NOT WAIT for next season's Game of Thrones. So, we still have that.

I'm not a huge SMG fan. I have nothing against, and she was a very good lead on Buffy. But beyond that show, I could never quite figure out what role would be a good fit for her.

I plan to check out Revenge, Once Upon a Time and New Girl too. But I think I'm going to pass on Grimm. Its against Supernatural, and I feel like if I DVR it, I'm never going to get around to watching it.

My sister honeymooned in St Lucia and loved it. I hear its gorgeous. I'm off to Turks and Caicos next month and I can't wait to just lie on a beach for 4 days.

A beach house, and a lake house? Cool, when should I be over? ;)

I've been reading off and on lately. I've had Justin Cronin's The Passage on my nightstand for months now, but I still haven't started it.

If I could, and I had the money, I'd travel all the time. I love it. I love hotels, and exploring new places and new shopping and new restaurants. I'm not much for roughing it though.

One of the reasons I wanted to take care of the tree is because I didn't want tension between me and my neighbors. That would just stress me out. And they're nice neighbors, so...

I watched Fringe for about half the first season, but it didn't hold my interest. Its too bad, because I've heard from a lot of people that its turned into a fine show.

Tom on anything would make it must see TV for me. But apparently Tom has decided that working is optional. I was really afraid of this. *sigh*

Well, if surgery is going to make you feel better in the long run, then its a good thing. I'm thinking good thoughts for you.

Tree/insurance/neighbours problems are no fun. Ugh. I had a terrible vacation. It started nicely with my neck pain finally going away, but my father was rushed to the hospital and he was told he needed 6 bypasses or basically, he would die. He had his surgery and he's out of the hospital now but that whole ordeal, including taking care of my mother, was super stressful and pain-in-the-neck inducing. To top it off, I fell down a ladder last week and dislocated 2 fingers. It's really freaky to see your fingers in a totally unnatural position. Anyway, all is better now. I had more medical drama in one month then in my whole life to date.
I'm not seeing any new show that I want to watch. I'm going to watch my usual shows: SPN, Bones, Fringe, Modern family, 30 rock. I still haven't watched GoT.
Ah. Tom. I really really wish he will make wise career choices. And do some guest-starring roles. I keep imagining scripts for him in my favorite shows.

Oh man, sorry to hear about your string of bad health luck. How's Dad doing now?

When I was a teenager, I was always jamming a finger, or slamming it into something. It is freaky to see your poor fingers all beat up and misshapen.

You must watch GoT! I think you'll love it.

I don't know what Tom's career plans are, but apparently it involves a lot of vacationing and hanging out. Go figure.
