TV Watching Update

Since I'm home sick, and not doing much of anytyhing, I thought I'd write up a TV Watching Update

2011 Emmy Awards

Why do the Emmys always make me cringe? I thought Jane Lynch was a decent host, but the musical numbers, the Jersey spoof, and the "Emmytones" (OMG, the worst!) were awful. Who gets paid to come up with this crap? And why is it even ( Read more... )

Thanks, today was a better day. I think I'm on the road to a full recovery.

Well, here's the thing with Ringer, we know this is going to go on all season, so all this "Oh no, the jig is up" stuff is so ridiculous. And its just not well done.

I think the difference with Revenge was that it took a more subtle approach. Though I could've done without the flash forward in the beginning. I also think the lead actress just feels like a better fit for the material then SMG. It doesn't hurt that its got some really A actors playing the villians.

I think Pan Am looks like a lot of fun, but as with everything, its all in the execution. Crossing my fingers too.

Did Glee not mention Sam at all? I know there was bad blood with the actor but still: nasty. As usual the plot was a mixture of reboot + random + redux. And Mercedes and Tina should have shared the last number

I'll watch at least one ep of Playboy Club for CF & might give Secret Circle a try this week.

Favorite dresses: Martha Plimpton, Sofia Vergara, Evan Rachel Wood, Lena Headey, Gretchen Mol, Nina Dobrev
The first two topped my list as well - made me remember MO dressing all "anti-fashion" at the Oscars with River Phoenix way back when. She looks amazing now. Glad that Raising Hope was renewed.

They did briefly mention Sam. Just to say that his dad got a job in another state, and he moved.

Its great to see Martha get a resurgence in her career. I always thought she was very talented, but I felt her unconventional looks kept her from getting the roles she deserved.

Seriously..just watch FNL.
I've seen some of GoT and it's great..but not sure if it's better than Mad Men..which this past season was weaker than FNL..I would've given the latter the main emmy and Mad Men writing for the best hour of tv ever.

I was ecstatic at Kyle Chandler though...and yea bummer on Steve Carell.

Were the emmytones bad? I was flipping between emmys and the Falcons so I missed most of them.

I also liked Amy Poehler's idea of the pageant thing.

Done with Glee for the most part..Quinn seems to be getting an arc...but a badly written one I'd bet.

I haven't seen FNL, so I can't comment on that. I have tried Mad Men, and ya know, I just don't like it. I find it slow, and the characters thoroughly unlikeable. So, its appeal just eludes me.

The Emmytones were awful My God, how embarassing for those actors.

The best comedy actress thing was one of my favorite parts of the night.

The way I watch Glee is that I DVR it, and then I FF through it and just watch the stuff that involves characters I like. I can't get invested in the Quinn storyline, as much as I love her, because I know the show is going to screw her over in the end. Because she's not one of the "chosen" ones, i.e. Rachel, Kurt, Blaine

I was happy to see a review on my personal favorite series show, thanks for that! I agree with you on the subject of Sam! It' s his turn to have a relationship of substance. He more than deserves one after managing his servers and restaurant! Not a bad catch and can be your best friend, too. Ha ha! Woof! I don't see Sookie without the dynamic of a best friend as we get a lot of her personal secrets through Tara. Now, I think most of us can agree on Erik! Ye-ow!
