Hi again. I wanted to be sure to tell you how much I enjoyed this chapter. So much of what we've seen in terms of people writing Frances or about her is this weird thing that happens in CI fic where people can't see a character as a person if that character has been involved with hurting Bobby in any way, shape or form. This gets played out with a lot of Frances Goren in fic (I'm not even going to revisit the issue of portrayals of schizophrenia, because that's a road I've been down enough already). A lot of portrayals don't see *her*. They just see that Bobby's had a difficult time, and therefore Frances must be awful. I'm glad that she was portrayed on the show so there's now canon to draw upon. Your portrayal is faceted and nuanced, and it also rings very true to all of the characters involved. You've depicted Frances strengths and weaknesses. You show her as a whole person and not as a plot device ( ... )

Thank you! I'm so glad to hear that my version of Frances worked for you...especially that she came across as multi-dimensional. People do tend to go over the top in their portrayals of her - and now, having tried to write her myself, I can understand why, because *damn* it's hard to portray mental illness without resorting to cliche. I'm not sure if I've succeeded...the story isn't finished yet, so we'll see ( ... )
