The local CBC broadcast a nice radio spot about fishers today. It's nice that they're trying to get some good info out about them (...sort of). Hug a cuddly fisher today! :)
"Is rural Ontario ready for another predator in their backyard?"
Hmmmmmm; weren't the fishers there first? One of my hot buttons is predator predation. One of the reasons the world is so whacky is we hunt all the things nature designed to keep herself in balance. Even the uncute ones (rattlesnakes, etc.) play a role in the ecosystem! But it was a relatively nice story on the fishers. I liked the biologist. "How can a 2 pound fisher eat a horse? :)
Wow.. it's been a while since I've seen a post from you!
That was a pretty cool radio spot. I'm glad to hear some parts of the forest are being reclaimed and that fishers might be making a comeback. Around here it's just 'sprawl sprawl sprawl'
