As I mentioned before, typing this as best I can remember it and trying to double check what I'm writing as I do it. Please allow some lee-way as you check my information though, as this isn't as polished as the original data ( Read more... )

On colour theory ... your stuff here seems a bit simple. For example, you haven't covered that Autobots largely prefer bright colours and/or primary colours, whereas Decepticons tend towards purple, green and dark blues. Note that the Decepticons often use "stealth" colours - purple is a neutral background tone on a powered-down Cybertron, whereas yellow, gold or orange would be a neutral background colour during the Golden Age.

You're also using too few colour concepts. You've got one idea for grey, yet it seems foolhardy to say that the death-like raw grey of the Dinobots carries the same meanings as Megatron's silvery grey. Starscream and Optimus Prime have near identical colours, except for a few yellow markings on Prime, but it seems highly implausible that they're perceived the same.

Further point; construction vehicles tend to use bright, almost fluorescent colours, usually green or yellow/orange.

As I'd mentioned prior, I'm trying to write this up soley from memory, and am planning to fill in the gaps with more information as I go. I doubt that the shades of a color mean exactly the same things. The Dinobots grey certainly has a different meaning than Megatron's silver, yet both colors would have overtones associated with death and would be aimed to intimidate those who saw it ( ... )
