I guess the real question here is: how much or how often do you tell your parents that you love them and that you are appreciative of all that they have done, and are continuing to do for you. It is true that people do things for selfish reasons but things people do are also done because others can benefit from it as well. When was the last time you called a friend just to say "hi" and see how they are doing without you calling to tell them all about yourself and your latest adventures? Now that you crashed your car, are your parents going to "help out" in buying you a new one (using their name and credit for you)? And with all the days off you have taken (so you can do your own personal stuff) at your current position, do you feel that work will see you as a competent worker enough to keep you (aren't you still on probation?!?)? And then who will take over the car payments then? It appears that "acquiring" and "getting" and "having" is more important to some more than others.
Wow. I saw that reply to your post and I was trying to figure out who left it but the only person I know who is that big an asshole had already posted non-anonymously. Anyway I enjoyed reading your response and I applaud you for standing up for yourself, even if you were that jerk that the Unknown Poster thinks you were.
At any rate, I'm still holding fast to my N.O.W. theory.
