Yes, it's me. I'm actually posting something. I know, shocking.
I've been back at school for 3 weeks, and I can tell that this semester isn't going to be fun. The work doesn't seem too bad, but I'm going to have to do close to 50 hours observation for my classes, 30 of those for the same class. And within those 30 hours, I have to teach 6 lessons, 1 of which a field instructor observes me, and another that's going to get videotaped and shown in my class. And I have to fill out a seamingly endless stack of forms for this observation. I'm also president of a club I'm in (BACCHUS). And I got a call today from someone at Macaroni Grill who wants me to come in for an interview on Wednesday.
Today was Club Day, where all of the different clubs on campus have tables and students can sign up and find out more information about the different clubs. Every year BACCHUS makes mocktails (cocktails without alcohol). First of all, there were only 3 people besides me that helped out at all, even though we had close to 10 active members and non-active members who were on the mailing list. Not one single person besides the officers could take 30 minutes out of their day to help run the table. It wasn't too bad, but it still would have been nice for someone else to come help. Then, this morning, it took us close to 45 minutes into Club Day to get an extension cord plugged in (first we didn't have one, then we didn't have a ladder to get the cord up to the outlet). We ran out of cups less than 2 hours into a 4 hour event, and someone had to go get more. Then, with about 30 minutes left, we ran out of drink mix, and decided to call it quits. Despite all of those problems, and the fact that it was 90° today, I think that it went fairly well. We made a lot of drinks, and we got close to 60 people to sign up for our club. Half of them probably won't show up to the first meeting, and then half of those probably won't come back, but if we get 10-15 new members I'll be happy. We have our first meeting tomorrow, and I'm not looking forward to it. It will be strange to run a meeting, since I've never done that before. I also signed up for a bunch of clubs, half of which I probably won't ever think about again, since I'm going to be too busy or they won't fit into my schedule.
I should be getting my computer back next weekend. Yay! I had a bad video card that my dad got replaced. He said that he could send it to me, but I decided just to wait, since my aunt's coming to visit on the 22nd, so I figured, why waste money? I haven't had my computer all school year, and I think a few more weeks won't kill me. I'll be really glad to have it back, though.
