I thought that was a really terrific episode; the words "good old fashioned romp" spring to mind. With a lot of the New Series stories, there's an awful lot crammed into 45-minutes and that time limit can be an hindrance, and with "Victory of the Daleks", it all seemed a bit rushed.
The Daleks pretending to be servants (shades of "The Power of the Daleks") was great!--and when the Doctor snapped and hit the Dalek with the spanner, and it said "You don't want any tea, then?" was brilliant! Matt Smith is playing the role incredibly well.
The new-look Daleks are impressive, although their bloated back sections give them the "fat ass" stigma. I don't mind the multi-color scheme which, if you watched DW Confidential, denotes rank now. If I had to find fault it would be that these "pure" Daleks didn't get much of a chance to do anything. In a way, it makes VOTD feel like a prelude to a larger story. Maybe that's where a lot of disappointment from certain corners of fandom has come from?
At any rate, I enjoyed it and I'm even more intrigued with Amy than ever before. Why can't she remember the Daleks? Are those cracks in time caused by her or following her?
