fortran is not archaic, its versitile and adaptable if you put some time into it. archaic means obsolete, which it is not.

(sorry for the fortran fetish)

It was created in 1950, so it's old (which is an acceptable synonym of archaic). That's like me saying that a "fetish" is an object necessary for sexual gratification--of which I hope you have one not to a programming language. :-P

In any case, I only meant that it was old and that I'd prefer to spend time learning something a bit newer.
