classes

This is not going to be a good semester. I can tell. It doesn't seem like that big of a deal at first, taking five classes. But it is. Four classes is a lot of work, but it's manageable. Five just pushes everything over the edge.

Italian 102: It's been a year since I took Italian 101, and the first few days of class were pretty bad: I would have understood more had the teacher been speaking in Japanese. But my teacher's been very nice; she even got me a copy of last semester's book for free. I'm slowly starting to remember more, so it's getting better. I'm still terrified of speaking in class, but I'm pretty sure I'd be that way no matter how well I knew the language.

Anthropology: This is going to be pretty easy I think, as long as I keep up with the work. It's the first class I've ever had that had over 100 people in it, so it's kinda of weird.

Japanese Culture: I love this class already...and I've only been one day so far. It's actually something I'm interested, the teacher is nice (though a bit anal), and the other students are fun. And we get to watch anime later in the semester, which you just can't beat.

American Shamanism, aka my grad level art history class: This has to be the scariest class I have ever taken. I'm so freaked out about it. I'm not the only other undergraduate in the class, but I seem to be the only one who hasn't had this professor before. But we get to work on an exhibit for the museum here on campus, which will be cool.

And lastly there's my I-fill-random-GER history class on marriage and sexuality in Spanish colonial America. I kid you not. I don't think I'll care much for this class:I really don't give a damn about the subject material, and I don't care much for the teacher. But I have to have the class to graduate so there's not much I can do: it was the most interesting class I could get into that fulfilled this stupid requirement.
