It is a good thing Jag's family is not home when the call comes through-- they would have some very choice words to say to Jaina. Goodness knows they've been saying a lot about her lately, and none of it has been any good.

He's getting tired of it, but there's nowhere else to go. The hospital here on Csilla released him after they were done setting his broken bones and patching his cuts and scrapes, but the CDEF forced him on medical leave until he healed.

Jag loves his family, but he's not looking forward to spending another two months with them while his arm knits.

"Fel Residence," he answers. "Who is calling?"

The holo screen flickers and Jag's face, now complete with cuts and abrasions and a hnearly ealed bruise she doesn't remember, comes into view.

Jaina takes another breath, clutching the ring even tighter in her hand. It's been so long since she's seen him face to face - almost six months, since they left Milliways.

Funny how much everthing can change within such a short amount time.

"It's Jaina." Jaina shakes her head and clears her throat. More loudly, "Jedi Solo calling. ...Jagged?"

Jag's lips tighten into a thin line.

"Jaina. It's... been a while."

The last time they spoke, he rebuked her for breaking Lowbacca's parole and they tried to shoot each other out of the sky.

"Only a couple of weeks," Jaina replies, keeping her eyes locked on Jag's face.

From somewhere in the academy building, Jaina feels a nudge of reassurance from Zekk and smiles gratefully. At least their bond is one thing that hasn't changed. Much.
