Hospital visit

So, my lovely wife is in the hospital once again.

Everything started on Thursday around 4pm when Jenni was feeling a bit dizzy and lightheaded and laid down in bed for a bit. We were going to go get Sonja from daycare and maybe go swimming at our complex's pool. The dizziness subsided but she started feeling a great deal of pain in the center of her chest that kept growing. Going through to her pain and down her left arm.

She was scared, I was worried so off to the hospital we went.

They did an EKG on her as soon as we arrived but it was normal so we were placed on the backburner for a couple of hours. Finally around 6-6:30 a doctor came in to see how she was doing, examined her, ordered some chest and blood tests and some pain killers.

Chest and blood tests didn't reveal anything.

I want to say around 8pm, Jenni had one of her partial-seizures. Nothing new but the nurse (real nice lady that listened to us) saw what was going on and got the doctor. Since they were monitoring her vitals, I was able to see that her heartrate jumped to 160+ during the seizure. After he seizure was over, they got her on more meds to calm her and the nurse informed us that she would be admitted for the night for observation.

Mind you, at the same time, my grandma from Montana was in the area. plans were for us to get together for a visit so she could meet Sonja. So I called my boss and told him I was calling off for Friday. This way, I could stay with Jenni overnight, and not miss my chance to see my grandma and aunt (hadn't seen them in four years).

They finally got us admitted around 2am. (yeah, 2am) At this point, neither jenni or I had eaten in 12 hrs. Jenni was starving, irritable and wanted to go home (we realized she had missed her dose of Zoloft for the day) So I got food for her, we ate, then I left to go to the "family room" to sleep on the couch since I wasn't allowed to stay in the room. the couch ended up being a over-used chair that folded out to be a bed, right below a ceiling light that could not be turned off. think around 3am I finally drifted off.

Nurse woke me at 6am telling me that jenni needed me. Can't remember what she needed but I headed out afterwards. Arrived home, got cleaned up, packed up items for Sonja's trip to Longview (Mom was coming up with Grandma Jackie today), packed up a few other things then headed to the in-laws to get Sonja. Back to the hospital after doing a quick outfit change on Sonja so Jenni could see her. When we arrived the nurses were Jenni ready for a stress test to see how her heart performed at an elevated rate. Test was suppose to last for several hours. She looked to be doing well, got a few more hours sleep than I.

I left with Sonja to visit the relatives around 10am. Parted company with my mom, grandma jackie and sonja around 3pm and took my grandma kathy and aunt nicci to visit with Jenni. Turns out the stress test had only been 30 minutes to an hour. They were going to do the four hour test on Saturday (so they were keeping her another night). Doctor on staff on Friday wasn't sure why the night doc had kept her overnight when all the tests on her heart were normal. Left around 4:30 to get my grandma and aunt to the dealership (car was being worked on) and be on their way.

Stopped off at home to get Jenni a few items, got her old laptop running pretty good after un-installing all the extra programs and files on it, grabbed a stack of DVDs and food. Finally got back to the hospital around 7, had dinner and watched Pan's Labyrinth (dark but excellent tale) and stayed until 11pm. They still don't know why she's in so much pain or what is wrong with her chest. One doctor thinks it might be psychological. not that it's all in her head but the combination of stress (i slipped up and she found out just how bad off financially we are), insomnia, and everything else going on are having physical results.

If anyone wants to reach her, she's at Good Samaritan. 1-253-770-2904, room 44A.

EDIT: Fixed phone number.

UPDATE: She's home now. They shrugged their shoulder, told her it isn't her heart and sent her home.

hospital, jenni
