Subject lines says it all. Not so much as a beep or anything when I hit the power button. I'm guessing the power supply crapped out on me. I'll see what I can do tomorrow with a visit to Frys

Let me know if I need to venture into my garage (the great computer bone yard that it is) and pull out spare parts to improve your current system. And some day I want to see your new place! I've been stuck in Portland for quite a while now. And unfortunately likely to continue to be stuck until the latter half of August. Perhaps then...
The motherboard is honestly the most common. A while back they switched to sub-standard capacitors and they bulge out and eventually die...usually within 2-3 years. Only the top end motherboards have a longer life now.
