It sorta makes sense, with a republican majority in congress and all. but yeah, I didn't know it was THAT close; it kind of sucks. It also sucks that they're discussing stuff like this in congress while pigeonholing discussion about stuff like, uh, the current war in Iraq.

ha. got into an argument with this kid on gay marrage in genetics class. it was him and about half the class against me (other half didnt care) and the teach and i completly pwned them.
key discussion points included:
-"...they get gay married and then..."
-I argued the point of how many gay couples need insurance benefits, which fueled them into saying that the only reason they are getting married is to cheat the system. Supported this point with an episode of Drew Carey gets married to his boss so that the boss can stay in the country. wtf?
-They argued that gay people should not get married because they could not produce productive members of society (kids). Ooooh buddy.
Basically it was hilarious. I wish i remembered more of it but my brain is leaking through my ears at the moment.
